The advice and immediately applicable tips are documented and provided to you, so you can always refer to them. Additionally, you will be supported via app and phone for up to a week after the consultation at no extra cost. Small materials needed, such as a nipple shield, are included in the consultation. Depending on the issues, a lactation consultation typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. You can schedule an appointment on weekdays, and only in emergencies will appointments be made in the evening, on weekends, or holidays. If it&#8217;s necessary to observe a feeding or examine your baby, advice will be provided on scheduling a consultation at your home or at the practice.<\/p>\n<h3>Prenatal consultation<\/h3>\n<p>The prenatal consultation is for all expectant mothers who plan to breastfeed and want to be well-prepared. It is also for mothers who have had a negative experience with breastfeeding, undergone breast reduction, had breast cancer, or anticipate challenges with breastfeeding for other reasons. During a one-hour prenatal consultation at your home, all your personal questions are addressed, you receive information, and, if needed, a breast examination is conducted. Afterwards, you receive a personalized breastfeeding plan and a photo and video instruction on how to position your baby for breastfeeding.
